چکیده

Varicella zoster virus (VZV) is human neurotropic virus. It becomes latent in dorsal root ganglia; it may reactivate and can cause dermatological manifestations; most common herpes zoster. Several neurological disorders occur such as encephalitis, meningitis, myelitis neuropathy. Longitudinally extensive transverse infrequent. The association of AQP4 antibody with has been documented few case reports. Longitudinally extensive transverse myelitis with and without aquaporin 4 antibodies.

IMPORTANCE Aquaporin 4 antibody (AQP4-Ab)-negative patients with longitudinally extensive transverse myelitis (LETM) behave differently from those with AQP4-Ab. Aquaporin 4 antibody-negative neuromyelitis optica (NMO) is rare when good assays are used. OBJECTIVE To assess if AQP4-Ab-negative patients with LETM share similar disease characteristics with AQP4-Ab-positive patients or whether the...

Hemorrhagic Longitudinally Extensive Transverse Myelitis

Longitudinally extensive transverse myelitis (LETM) may be associated with viral triggers, including both infections and vaccinations. We present a case of a healthy immunocompetent 33-year-old woman who developed a hemorrhagic LETM 2 weeks after seasonal influenza vaccination. Hemorrhagic LETM has not to our knowledge been reported after influenza vaccination. It may represent a forme fruste v...

Influenza-associated MOG antibody-positive longitudinally extensive transverse myelitis: a case report

BACKGROUND Myelin-oligodendrocyte glycoprotein antibody (MOG antibodies) was found in various demyelinated diseases. This is the first report of a patient with longitudinally extensive transverse myelitis with an extremely high titer of MOG antibodies after an influenza infection. This case supports the view that MOG antibodies are linked to longitudinally extensive transverse myelitis and that...

Several case reports have suggested the associations b...
